M.B. Lamar Middle School has officially announced eighth-grader Lily Gallegos as the school’s premier representative for the prestigious KGNS Student of the Year award.
The city-wide recognition honors a select group of students who serve as role models within their schools, balancing academic achievement with outstanding citizenship, personal integrity, and community spirit. According to campus leadership, Lily was the natural choice to represent the Lamar Lions.

"Lily exemplifies excellence through her leadership, dedication, character, and commitment to success both in and out of the classroom," said Counselor Pineda. "She truly represents the pride and spirit of M. B. Lamar, and we are incredibly proud of all she has accomplished."
As the KGNS Student of the Year selection process moves forward, Lily carries the full backing of her peers, teachers, and administrators, who view her as a shining example of what it means to lead with purpose.
"Congratulations, Lily, on this outstanding honor!" the school added in a collective cheer. "Your M. B. Lamar family is cheering you on every step of the way!"
