The halls of M. B. Lamar Middle School were filled with excitement, smiles, and plenty of Lion pride as students and families gathered for Meet the Teacher, welcoming the Lamar community back for another exciting school year.
Students had the opportunity to meet their teachers, visit their classrooms, become familiar with their schedules, and get a head start on the year ahead. For many of our incoming 6th graders, the evening was an exciting first look at their new middle school home, while returning Lions had the chance to reconnect with teachers and friends.
Meet the Teacher also gave families an opportunity to connect with the educators and staff who will support their students throughout the school year. From the classroom to extracurricular activities, Lamar is ready to make 2026–2027 a year filled with learning, growth, and opportunities for every student.
“Meet the Teacher is such a special way to begin the school year because it gives our students and families the opportunity to feel connected from day one,” said Ms. Melissa Valdez, Principal of M. B. Lamar Middle School. “We want every student to know that they are valued, supported, and an important part of our Lion family. We are excited about the year ahead and all that our students will accomplish.”
The evening set the tone for a successful year, reminding students and families that education is a partnership. With dedicated teachers, supportive families, and enthusiastic students, Lamar is ready to make this school year one to remember.
