M. B. Lamar Middle School turned pink this month as students, teachers, and staff joined together to observe Breast Cancer Awareness Month through campus-wide initiatives focused on support, education, and community solidarity.

Throughout the month-long campaign, the LMS community organized spirit days and educational activities designed to honor those currently fighting breast cancer, celebrate survivors, and remember loved ones lost to the disease.

The campus initiative emphasized the critical roles that early detection, healthy lifestyle choices, and community support play in the fight against cancer. By wearing pink and engaging in awareness discussions, students and staff actively demonstrated their commitment to promoting health and wellness across the school.

School leadership highlighted the importance of teaching empathy and community responsibility alongside traditional academics, using the national campaign as an opportunity to reinforce core values of unity and compassion.

"Education, early detection, and community support make all the difference, and our students and staff are proud to show up, stand strong, and spread awareness," Principal Valdez shared. "At M. B. Lamar Middle School, no one fights alone."

The month's activities concluded with a renewed pledge from the school community to continue advocating for health awareness and supporting affected families throughout the year.
