M. B. Lamar Middle School brought students, parents, and educators together for its annual Family Reading Night, celebrating literacy and community engagement under this year’s theme, "Read. Grow. Bloom."

The evening featured interactive reading activities, book exploration, and community-building events designed to inspire a lifelong love of literature in students. Campus administrators, teachers, and staff joined families in emphasizing the critical role that home and school partnerships play in developing strong literacy skills.

At the center of the event was the LMS library team, led by Librarian Ms. Loranca and Library Assistant Ms. Gonzalez, who worked to transform the library into an inviting hub for young readers.

"Our goal every day, and especially on Family Reading Night, is to create a space where every single student feels inspired to discover new stories and let their imaginations grow," said Ms. Loranca. "Seeing our families come out to support their children's reading journey shows our Lions that books really can take them anywhere."

The event was supported by local businesses and community partners, including Chick-fil-A, My Pop, Petique, Advanced Orthodontics of Laredo, Texas A&M International University (TAMIU), Peter Piper Pizza, and Academia Equestre Del Bosque.

School leaders expressed their gratitude to the families and sponsors whose involvement helped make the evening a success, reaffirming the campus commitment to helping every student read, grow, and succeed.
