The M.B. Lamar Middle School Mighty Lion Band is celebrating an outstanding showcase of musical talent following their remarkable performance at the annual Solo and Ensemble Competition. Multiple band members earned top honors, bringing home 1st Division Medals for their exceptional solo and small-group performances.
Earning a 1st Division rating-the highest score achievable in school music competitions-requires months of rigorous individual practice, technical precision, and expressive artistry. The hard work and discipline demonstrated by these young musicians paid off on stage, earning high praise from judges and campus leaders alike.
Head Band Director Mrs. Rodriguez commended the students for their unwavering dedication to their craft.
"Watching our students dedicate countless hours to mastering their music and stepping onto that stage with confidence fills us with immense pride," said Head Band Director Mrs. Rodriguez. "Earning a 1st Division Medal is a true reflection of their passion, perseverance, and commitment to musical excellence. Our students continue to set a standard of high achievement, and we can't wait to see how far their talent takes them."
The entire Lamar community joins Band Directors Ms. Rodriguez, Mr. Rodriguez, and Mr. Hernandez in congratulating every student who participated and represented the Mighty Lion Band with honor. Keep shining and keep thriving!
