We are beyond proud to announce that Ms. San Juanita Rodriguez, our amazing Band Director at M. B. Lamar Middle School, has been selected as the Southwestern Division recipient of the 2025-2026 Dr. William P. Foster Project Community Development Award.
This prestigious national award recognizes outstanding music educators who use their band programs to enrich their communities, especially in underserved and under-resourced areas. Ms. Rodriguez’s dedication, leadership, and passion for music education have truly set her apart and inspired countless students at M. B. Lamar Middle.

Students learned about the powerful representation of Hispanic culture across literature and art. The project culminated in a spectacular Student Showcase, where parents witnessed the fusion of academic analysis and creative masterpieces.
