The Laredo Independent School District is hosting its sixth annual Scholars Golf Tournament on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the Casa Blanca Golf Course.


Funds raised from the Golf Tournament will benefit scholarships for deserving graduating seniors from the Hector J. Garcia Early College High School, Raymond and Tirza Martin High School, J.W. Nixon High School, and Dr. Leonides Cigarroa High School

Lamar MS and all of Laredo at the TMEA Region 14 Choir Concert 🎶✨ This is an incredible honor and a true testament to their talent, dedication, and hard work. We are so proud of you both for shining on such a prestigious stage and representing our school community so beautifully 💚

We are incredibly proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our M. B. Lamar students at the Tech Expo! Our Robotics Team, made up of Allison Salinas, Ruben Loreto, and Steven Rubio, earned 1st Place for their impressive work and innovation. In Coding App Creation, Alberto Garza, Lizeth Lozano, Andrew Martinez, and Rafael Martinez earned 3rd Place. In Digital Artwork, Sephora Alvarez earned 1st Place, and Sophia Cuevas earned 2nd Place. Sophia was also named the Tech Expo Drawing Contest Winner, and her winning design was featured on all middle school Tech Expo shirts. In Video Production, Zoey Gonzalez earned 1st Place, and in Digital Animation, Venice Gonzalez earned 2nd Place. Additionally, our Coding Team, made up of Gianna Guzman, Rodolfo Gonzalez, and Alberto Garza, competed against other middle schools and earned 1st Place overall. We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our sponsors Ms. M. L. Garcia and Ms. Trujillo. And a mega thank you to Ms. S. Garza, Ms. M. Martinez, Ms. Loranca, Mr. Guerra, Mr. Villalon, Ms. C. Garcia, and Ms. M. L. Garcia’s family, as well as the parents who assisted and supported our students at the booth on the day of the event. Report cards will be ready for pickup on Wednesday, January 14th in the Front Office.
