Ms. Ruiz's students are being published in I am Texas, the largest book (7 feet tall) in the world written by kids, attempting to enter the Guinness Book of World Records.


Today seniors from all over LISD and UISD walked the halls of Mirabeau B. Lamar Middle School, revisiting the school that made a difference in their academic lives on their path to graduation. We wish you all the best in your graduations and your future endeavors.

The Mighty Lion Bands, both Varsity & Non-Varsity Bands participated in The Texas Music Festival Competition in San Antonio, Texas on May 7, 2021 @ The Claudia Taylor Johnson H.S. Auditorium and brought back 1st place trophies in all captions.
Texas Bands from Central, East, South, and The Rio Grande Valley Participated. The Adjudicators were amongst the best band directors in the State of Texas and were all extremely impressed with the Mighty Lion Bands.

Lamar Middle School 7th grader, Sebastian Salazar, was named the winner of the Middle School Male Division of Children Advocacy Center’s First Annual Art Contest. Salazar won first place with his Watercolors and Color pencil entry titled “Warm Embrace.”
