We are beyond proud to announce that Ms. San Juanita Rodriguez, our amazing Band Director at M. B. Lamar Middle School, has been selected as the Southwestern Division recipient of the 2025-2026 Dr. William P. Foster Project Community Development Award.
This prestigious national award recognizes outstanding music educators who use their band programs to enrich their communities, especially in underserved and under-resourced areas. Ms. Rodriguez’s dedication, leadership, and passion for music education have truly set her apart and inspired countless students at M. B. Lamar Middle.
As part of this honor, Ms. Rodriguez will receive instruments, accessories, clinicians, and subscriptions for our school band program, courtesy of Conn-Selmer Instruments and Yamaha Music Corporation. She will also be nationally recognized, sharing her story and the story of M. B. Lamar Middle with music educators across the country.
